Princess program

The Miss Washington County/Miss Western Maryland Scholarship Organization is inviting young girls ages 5 to 12 (on pageant date) to participate in its new princess program.

The princesses will be introduced on stage and escort the contestants during the evening wear competition during the annual pageant at Hagerstown Community College on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at Kepler Theater.

This is not a competition for the young girls, but a mentoring program, where they will interact with the contestants competing for the titles. They will be invited to pageant activities at other times, as well.

The princesses will receive a crown, sash and T-shirt. In addition, they will each receive an adult ticket for the pageant, so that an adult may accompany them. They will wear a party or church dress in white or a solid color, knee or ankle length. They will come to one rehearsal. The fee for participation is $75. Proceeds will go into the scholarship fund as scholarship prizes for the contestants.

The application deadline is Feb. 10. For an application to be sent to you or for more information, call Dana at 240-217-0717 or BJ at 301-582-2850.
